Why BarkReserve

Owners judge a joint supplement in weeks. Most ingredients take months.

That gap is why so many jars end up at the back of the cupboard. The actives with the strongest long-term evidence, collagen peptides and undenatured type II collagen, are still building at month three. By then most owners have stopped.

So we layered the formula in time. PEA and eggshell membrane are the fast layer, studied for change inside the first weeks. Green-lipped mussel carries the middle. Collagen peptides and UC-II do the slow, structural work underneath.

And we made it something a dog actually wants: a soft beef-liver granule that disappears into dinner, instead of a chew to be refused or a tablet to be found under the sofa.

Fast layer

PEA (Levagen+) and eggshell membrane (NEM). Studied for early change, from the first weeks.

Medium layer

Whole green-lipped mussel at the level used in dog mobility trials.

Slow layer

Bioactive collagen peptides, the body of the granule, and UC-II at the studied 40 mg a day.

The formula

Seven actives. Every amount printed. Nothing proprietary.

Amounts per level scoop (one scoop per 10 kg or 22 lb of dog) and per day for a 20 kg dog. The research listed belongs to each ingredient; it did not test BarkReserve itself.

Naturally occurring collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans. Early onset in the research.

Two dog studies, with change measured from week one.

135 mg

Several dog trials, including a force-plate comparison.

20 mg

Glucosamine HCl, plant-fermented

The name owners look for, at a real amount, from a non-shellfish source.

The most familiar joint ingredient, included at 25 mg per kg.

250 mg

L-carnitine tartrate

Supports normal muscle metabolism in older dogs.

Senior-dog nutrition research.

100 mg

A dry, beef-flavoured granule you scoop onto food once a day. Not a chew, not a tablet, not an oil.

Soft, fast-dissolving granules with the actives in the centre and a thin beef-liver coating on the outside, so it tastes like a treat and never like a supplement.

No sugar, no glycerin, no dairy, no soft-chew binders, no synthetic preservatives. Natural vitamin E keeps the coating fresh.

Also contains: beef liver digest and beef muscle powder (flavour coating), beef tallow, mixed tocopherols (natural vitamin E). Copper from the beef liver is kept under 0.1 mg per scoop.

    Tell us about your dog

Name, weight, age, what you are noticing and what they eat.

  2. 2

    We size the plan

Weight sets the daily scoop, the canister size and how often it ships. Same formula for every dog.

  3. 3

    Scoop onto food

One level scoop per 10 kg, once a day. Mixed into wet food or over moistened kibble.

For senior dogs of every breed & size

The dog on the label is a French Bulldog. The plan is for yours.

One formula, dosed by weight. A 12 lb Dachshund gets one scoop; a 95 lb Shepherd gets four and a half. Mixed breeds, rescues, purebreds, all the same scoop rule.

Questions, answered.

How do I feed it?

One level scoop per 10 kg (22 lb) of body weight, once a day, to the nearest half scoop. The scoop has a half line inside. Mix it into wet food, or moisten kibble with a tablespoon or two of warm water so the granules cling.

What is actually in it?

Seven actives, every amount on the label: bioactive collagen peptides, PEA (Levagen+), eggshell membrane (NEM), green-lipped mussel, UC-II undenatured type II collagen, plant-fermented glucosamine and L-carnitine, in a beef-liver coated granule with natural vitamin E. No sugar, glycerin, dairy, soft-chew binders or synthetic preservatives.

How is this different from a chew?

Chews need binders, humectants and sugars to stay soft, and the actives have to fit around them. A granule is mostly active: the collagen peptides are the body of it. It also goes into food, so a dog that spits out chews does not get a vote.

When will I see a change?

Plan on weeks, not days. The fast layer (PEA, eggshell membrane) was studied for change inside the first weeks; the collagen layer keeps building past month three. That is why the guarantee runs 90 days.
